Manchester United were on course for a dramatic defeat at Stamford Bridge when Brazil international Casemiro scored an equaliser. Manchester United have come back from a goal down to score an equaliser in the 84th minute, thanks to Casemiro’s spectacular looping header. The Brazilian has been an incredible presence for United this season and his first goal was truly remarkable – one for the ages!

Chelsea had taken control of the opening period, with Kepa diverting Antony’s curling effort around the post and then Marcus Rashford shooting after Bruno Fernandes set him up. Jorginho’s penalty was an incredible finish that could have given Chelsea the lead but for Casemiro’s looping header which leveled things up in stoppage time.

United’s 11th consecutive home win under Erik ten Hag indicates they are on track for an excellent season and remain in contention for a place among the top four. It was an impressive showing from United, signalling they will continue their impressive run this season.

United’s day could have come to a tragic end had Raphael Varane not suffered his suspected muscle injury during the game. The France international was overcome with emotion after the game and feared missing the World Cup.

Even after opting out of Cristiano Ronaldo in favor of Romero, United were lacking in attack as Jorginho scored from the penalty spot to take the lead. Summer signing Casemiro came through big time in the 86th minute by heading home a corner kick to earn Erik ten Hag’s men a share of the spoils.

Kepa had it set for another clean sheet, but United rallied with a 93rd minute header from Casemiro to draw level and take control of their Champions League campaign with two games remaining. His looping header denied Kepa another clean sheet and put United back in control of their campaign with two games remaining.

Erik Ten Hag’s toughness and abrasive style of play have been a major factor in United’s recent success under him, as his players displayed an edge against Chelsea that they hadn’t had for some time. While this side of football has often gone overlooked by supporters, Ten Hag has worked diligently to restore it during his tenure as manager.

United will take heart from this result ahead of their Europa League match against Sheriff, which starts on Tuesday. A fourth win in five matches suggests they are beginning to lay the groundwork for a strong foundation for the remainder of the season.
